Food Stations at Reception

Updated: Feb 17, 2020

Food and Beverage stations have been a trend for weddings this year. Instead of the normal sit-down, plated meals, couples are opting for stations. Stations allow couples to offer a larger variety of options. Guests can try all the options or stick to a few they really like.

Although plated meals are absolutely delicious and amazing, stations can leave your guests talking about it for a long time after your wedding. Stations are more interactive and often very entertaining such as Thomas Caterers' "Smoking Gun" or "Fire & Ice" stations.

We have found that stations give your guests the optimal socializing experience. Instead of being stuck in a single seat for the serving of salad, entree and dessert. Your guests can get up and move around between visiting stations and meeting your other guests.

The Himalayan Salt Block station is a crowd favorite, featuring a Beef and Tuna option.

The Beef Tenderloin and Ahi Tuna are seared on a Himalayan Salt Block until browned on both sides to a standard medium rare. They can be cooked to a medium or well-done upon requests by any guest.

The "Up In Smoke" Station is both delicious and entertaining for your guests

This Station features jars filled with Seared Sea Scallop with Sautéed Crimini Mushrooms, Bacon, and Corn Kernels served with Corn Puree that are filled with smoke from burning Hickory Wood. Adding the perfect smoking tasting to this delicious menu item.

The jar is filled with smoke and corked, allowing the hickory flavor to really absorb in.

The Piri Piri Station is a crowd pleasing favorite!

"Fire and Ice"

From the burning hickory wood to the liquid nitrogen, this station is smoking! The "Fire" is our Smoked Shrimp with Creamy Grits in jars filled with smoke from burning Hickory Wood.

The "Ice" component is our Champagne Float Station with our Yulupa California Sparkling Wine in a Rose Crystal rimmed glass with the choice of Lavender/Mint or Lemon/Basil Sorbet. The Sorbet is made with liquid nitrogen, creating a swift moving cloud of cold smoking!
